Rooney: Carrick has a fierce edge, he can bring change

  /  RichardYan

In the latest episode of his personal podcast, Rooney shared his thoughts on Carrick, stating that Carrick is currently the most suitable choice for Manchester United.

Rooney said, "This might be the obvious choice—there are no top-tier managers available right now. I understand why Manchester United didn’t go with Solskjær. Carrick is a very measured individual, but he’s got a real edge to him—100%. Don’t be fooled by him; he won’t back down easily. The issue lies with the players."

"Many coaches have tried to unlock their potential but have failed. That will be his challenge. I remember when I first joined the club, I spoke with Bryan Robson and Bobby Charlton to learn about the club’s history. I don’t know if that still happens nowadays."

"I know Carrick wouldn’t take an interim manager role at another club. But he wants to stay here—he’s extremely level-headed, and he’s been here before—even though it was only for three matches, he did very well."

"Steve Holland is also a very good appointment. I’ve worked with him before at the England national team, and he’s excellent tactically. Of course, it’s a tough task, given Manchester United’s current situation."

"We all hope to see some stability at the club over the next few months—that’s the most important thing. He can’t possibly fix everything in the coming months, but behind the scenes, this will bring about some changes."
