Roy Keane: I wish I could be as casual as Carrick about Man Utd's problems

Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane discussed the current predicament facing Manchester United and expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's recurring problems.

Keane said: "For any manager, when working with a group of coaches and players, you have to work with the personnel you have. We saw the Aston Villa manager constantly adjusting throughout the summer; he was restricted in some ways, but when he had a group of available players, he worked with them and tried to help them improve. Usually, he was able to do that. For the past few years, Aston Villa has always finished the season strongly.

What is madness? It's doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We came here knowing they would create a lot of chances for the opposition. Now it's up to the manager and players to solve this problem.

You hear players talk about mentality, saying they are disappointed, but then they need to take action. I find it hard to believe what I hear from the Manchester United camp. I'm not even sure if they are being honest enough with themselves. If they can't even do that, how can we believe everything they say?

What we see every week is often chaotic defending, a lack of organization, and players not being tough enough in physical challenges. Then they give interviews, and the manager tells everyone the team needs to tighten up defensively. Isn't that just empty talk?

We have been waiting for Manchester United to respond, whether after the heavy defeat to AFC Bournemouth or after the match against Como. I admire those who can face problems with a relaxed, casual attitude. I wish I could do that! Look at Carrick, he would say: 'We just need to tighten up defensively.' And when I hear that, I think: 'Tighten up defensively? You should go all out!'

Everyone handles things differently. But from another perspective, in a few weeks, Manchester United will be playing away at Liverpool. How many chances will Liverpool create then? I don't think this Liverpool team is a top team right now, but do you believe Manchester United can go all out and keep a clean sheet? Can they dig deep defensively and make it hard for the opponent to beat them? Can they get into the game quickly?

Good luck to them..."
