After Manchester United drew 4-4 with Aston Villa at home, Manchester United legend Roy Keane spoke about the team's performance in the match. He believes that although Manchester United exposed many problems in the game, the team at least showed some fighting spirit, ultimately salvaging a point when it seemed there was no hope left. However, from a broader perspective, Manchester United's current performance is still far from good enough.
Keane said: "There have been continuous questions about whether this team has enough fighting spirit and desire to win. Although from a tactical and technical football perspective, this was a terrible game, they persevered until the end. The team didn't give up, so you have to give them some credit."
"But from a broader perspective, watching Manchester United play is like being on a roller coaster, with inconsistent performances. Some periods were really terrible. Defensively, there were obvious problems, both at the start of the first half and the start of the second half. However, when the team seemed to be in absolute despair, they still found a way to ultimately get a point."
"Ultimately, this kind of performance is far from good enough, and Manchester United still has a long way to go to truly move towards the mid-table positions in the league."
