Roy Keane has slammed Manchester United's centre-backs for wearing gloves in the pre-match warmup ahead of their clash against Spurs.
Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane were pictured getting warmed up at Old Trafford ahead of their Premier League match wearing gloves, which Keane jokingly said 'sends a great message'.
The 50-year-old made the comment during his pre-match punditry, where he also stated how important a match this is for both teams who are chasing Champions League qualification.
As the two defenders were shown on screen, with their defensive record being critiqued, Keane made the comment moments before the start of the game.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: 'Are they in gloves? Are they wearing gloves? Am I seeing things? That's a great message that. Two big strong centre-halves!'
Varane and Maguire started the fixture against Tottenham on Saturday as Man United's central defender partnership.
Keane also highlighted how important the game was for both teams, who are in the race for the fourth and final Champions League position.
Keane said: 'They've got to turn up. Man United at home to Spurs is always a good fixture. Spurs have had a decent run here in the last few years, picked up decent results.
'We spoke last week about how bad United were against city, particularly in the 2nd half, in terms of giving up. They need a reaction, they've got some big hitters back today who are vastly experienced.'
