In the prematch press conference of Saturday's clash against Union Berlin, Bayern CEO Rummenigge talked about current situation of club and Bundesliga amid coronavirus pandemic.

First of all Rummenigge strongly suggested FIFA should suspend national teams' matches. "There will be an international break next week. I would strongly recommend that FIFA suspend them, otherwise our players would have to travel around the world.

"It is extremely important that we follow policy guidelines and recommendations.

"It may be necessary for the EURO to be postponed for health reasons. Maybe we have to use June to finish the club competitions"

On Bundesliga: "We have no player who is infected in the Bundesliga. I think that's the difference with other leagues who won't go ahead this weekend. We have about 1000 employees here, who all came to work on time at 8.30 am. Our sponsors Audi or Adidas also work. We've a game tomorrow."

He also called on fans not to go to Berlin: "Please don't come to Berlin.  Please do not gather in front of the stadiums.  These are all contacts that we must prevent so that the virus does not spread quickly. Please do not come to the stadiums, you are not doing the clubs and the players a favor."

"Everyone should understand what ending the season would mean for clubs. Most of the revenue comes from the TV sector. If this sector were to fail, there are fears that many small and medium-sized clubs will experience liquidity problems. We hope this will end quickly."
