Marcel Sabitzer could be the next RB Leipzig star to leave the club this summer, with the Bundesliga outfit reportedly looking to offload the Tottenham target for a cut price fee.

Leipzig have already waved goodbye to two of their stars this summer, with Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate leaving the club for Bayern Munich and Liverpool respectively.

And according to The Athletic, captain Sabitzer may be another departure from Leipzig. The Austrian is understood to have made it clear that he is open to taking on a new challenge having spent six years at the club.

The 27-year-old has 12 months remaining on his existing contract with the Bundesliga side and his availability could alert a host of Premier League clubs, including Spurs.

The north Londoners were linked with Sabitzer last summer but were unwilling to meet his £43m release clause.

However, Sabitzer's contract situation could see his price reduced to just £15m, a cut-price fee given the Austrian's experience at Champions League level.

The midfielder has scored 52 goals and provided 42 assists in 227 games for Leipzig, flourishing under former boss Julian Nagelsmann.

Spurs, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the midfielder, although it is unclear whether the north Londoners will move for the 27-year-old.

Jose Mourinho was interested in landing Sabitzer last summer but the Portuguese has since left the club while Daniel Levy has hired Fabio Paritici as sporting director, and the Italian may well have alternate targets.

Paritici has made Paulo Fonseca his preferred candidate for the Tottenham vacancy and the Premier League side are understood to be close to striking a deal to land the former Roma boss.
