Scaloni: Messi plays well, others should take step forward to associate with him

Lionel Scaloni , Argentina coach, admitted this Friday, after the 1-3 defeat against Venezuela, that he did not "like" the image of his team in the first half, although he said he would not call it a disappointment, while he rejected that the first two goals were the result of the system of three midfielders.

"Logically (the image) we did not like, especially me, the second half, we try to correct the situation, the second half leaves positive things, but the first half leaves them negative, it is better that they pass now and not later. We are very useful for this game", he said at a press conference.

"I would not call it a disappointment (...) The tactical system serves me and the boys use it to draw many conclusions," said the coach, who insisted on two occasions that the first two goals of Venezuela had nothing that sees with the three centre scheme that the coach raised in the first part of the clash.

"Surely, we learn a lot from this game," reiterated Scaloni, who saw "good" Lionel Messi in his reappearance with Argentina, "He played a good game, the situations we generated were all thanks to his imbalance. It hurts to lose, but this game helps us a lot to see how they associated with him and that the players who have to give him a step forward have drawn conclusions from players who can do nice things with him. "

"The others are the ones who have to take that step, I have no doubt about that, in fact, in the second half the team understood it much more," added the coach, who, in that sense, highlighted the "appearance" of  Matías Suárez  "Open to the left", "We trained him very little, but we had seen that he could associate well with Messi".

"We have seen interesting plays starting from the left, we still have to improve especially in midfield with  Lo Celso and Paredes, who have to find more (Messi) and they have to give a lot more," he added.

He explained, in reference to the full 90 minutes that Messi played, that he had "nothing stipulated with any player" about the time he was going to play.

He also explained, asked about the inconvenience that dragged the attacker of Barcelona, which has "the doctor's report yet of all players" and said he does not know if  Messi  will travel to Morocco: "I have no news yet."
