Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has penned a new long-term contract that will keep him at Vitality Stadium until 2030, putting an end to mounting speculation about his future.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian forward, who joined the Cherries from Bristol City in January 2023 for around €10.3 million, has rapidly become a key player under manager Andoni Iraola.

Semenyo’s breakthrough 2024/25 season saw him score an impressive 13 goals and provide seven assists across all competitions, helping Bournemouth secure a club-record 56 points and a joint-best ninth-place finish in the Premier League.

His performances earned him Bournemouth Player of the Month honours and drew attention from several top-flight clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United.

Despite the intense interest, Bournemouth have held firm on their valuation, reportedly demanding a fee above £60 million to part ways with the Ghanaian international.

This price tag has reportedly deterred some suitors, with Tottenham shifting focus to fellow Ghanaian Mohammed Kudus amid the high asking price for Semenyo.

Speaking after signing the new deal, Semenyo expressed his excitement about the prospect of staying at Bournemouth for more years.

“I’ve grown so much at the club, both on and off the pitch, and I’m really happy to have signed ahead of returning for pre-season. From the fans to the staff and my teammates, I can’t speak highly enough of the people around the club.

"It’s a great place to be and I’m excited to get back to Bournemouth and continue the hard work with the new season just around the corner.”

Since his arrival, Semenyo has made 89 appearances for Bournemouth, netting 22 goals and becoming an integral part of the Cherries’ attacking line. His pace, physicality, and versatility have made him a standout performer and a fan favourite.

With his new contract in place, Bournemouth signal their ambition to build around Semenyo as they aim to maintain their Premier League status and push higher up the table.

For Semenyo, the extension offers an improved contract given the Ghanaian had signed a contract extension in July 2024. At the Vitality, the forward has the platform to continue his development while keeping the door open for future opportunities at the highest level.

This commitment also comes at a crucial time as Bournemouth prepare for the new season, having recently lost key players like Milos Kerkez to Liverpool and Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid.
