Sergio Aguero has named former Manchester City team-mate Phil Foden as his favourite player at the moment in a Twitter Q&A on Tuesday.

The Argentine, who played at City for ten years from 2011-2021 and won five Premier League titles, enjoyed a close relationship with academy protege Foden.

Now, having retired from football due to a heart problem, the 33-year-old is more active on social media and has named Foden - 12 years his junior - as his favourite player to watch now.

He has also previously called Foden 'different gravy' in a comical video from April 2021, while he also said after leaving City in May that he wanted Foden - who wears the No 47 shirt - to take his No 10 shirt.

Speaking on a Twitch stream in May, Aguero said: 'I think the No.10 shirt should be given to Phil Foden.

'Some say Kevin. The thing is, I believe Kevin used his number [17] at other clubs, so I don't think he would change it. That's why I think Phil Foden.'

Foden has also praised Aguero, saying when he left City: 'He's unbelievable isn't he?

'You know how much the fans love him and all the players. You can see that today when he scored everyone ran over to celebrate with him.

'I was a ball boy here watching him for many years score so many goals.

'It's sad to see him go but I wish him all the best in whatever he does next.'
