Sky Sports: Tchouameni and Scott are Man Utd's leading midfield targets

According to Sky Sports, Tchouameni and Scott are key targets as Man United look to reinforce their midfield.

Tchouameni and Alex Scott reportedly remain key targets on Man United's midfield transfer shortlist.

Following Matheus Fernandes' £85 million transfer to Tottenham this week, Man United are assessing their next transfer options, with Felix Nmecha, Ayoub Bouaddi, and Sander Berge also on their shortlist.

The situation surrounding Tchouameni is complicated, as Real Madrid are looking to restructure their midfield.

Although they have long been interested in the player, the Spanish giants announced on Friday that they have no intention of pursuing Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandes.

Real Madrid are also interested in Rodri, but Man City want to keep the midfielder and hope to sign him to a new contract.

In any case, if Real Madrid do need to make room in their midfield, Spanish media generally report that they would prefer to let Camavinga leave rather than Tchouameni.

With the signing of Tchouameni currently difficult, AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is also a priority target for Man United.

Like Arsenal, Man United are among the frontrunners to sign Scott. However, Sky Sports has previously reported that AFC Bournemouth do not want to sell any key players, including Scott, and also hope to sign him to a new contract.

It is understood that Man United scouted Lille and Morocco midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi again this week. The 18-year-old continues to impress at the World Cup and will play in the Round of 16 against Canada on Saturday.

Dortmund and Germany midfielder Felix Nmecha, as well as Fulham and Norway midfielder Sander Berge, are also on Man United's transfer shortlist.

Strengthening the midfield has been, and remains, Man United's top priority this summer. They will complete the signing of Edson from Atalanta once his World Cup campaign with Brazil concludes.

While strengthening the midfield is the club's priority this summer, Summerville remains the top target for the left-wing position.

Man United have held initial exploratory talks with West Ham United regarding the Dutch international, but they are not the only Premier League club interested in him.

With the Netherlands eliminated from the World Cup by Morocco, Summerville's future is expected to become clearer in the coming weeks.

Man United hope to use the funds from Rashford's sale to complete the signing of Summerville. Rashford will return to Old Trafford after his post-World Cup vacation.

Depending on England's progress in the tournament, this could be extended until August.

Tottenham are also competing for Summerville. Man United are well aware that if they do not act quickly, they could once again lose a priority target to Spurs. Meanwhile, there remains a possibility that Rashford could stay and continue playing under Carrick as a rotational player.

As for the left-back position, Man United's pursuit of Newcastle defender Lewis Hall has been put on hold for now, as the club plans to complete further midfield signings first.
