Manchester United are aiming to bring in an attacking midfielder in this month's transfer window, with James Maddison and Jack Grealish among their key targets.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming to add an injection of creativity to his midfield, with Scott McTominay sidelined and Paul Pogba continuing to struggle with an ankle injury.
As reported by The Independent, Leicester's Maddison and Aston Villa's Grealish are being targeted, while Christian Eriksen is also under consideration, but the Tottenham player is more likely to move abroad.
Maddison has produced some excellent performances for high-flying Leicester this season - he has scored nine goals and provided three assists across all competitions.
Grealish, meanwhile, has found the net on eight occasions and has set up six goals.
United have again struggled for consistency this season and are currently in fifth place in the Premier League.
Solskjaer's side were sorely lacking in creativity on Wednesday night as they fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal, with Jesse Lingard deployed as an attacking midfielder ahead of Fred and Nemanja Matic.
United are also able to call upon Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata, who featured as substitutes against Arsenal, but the club certainly need greater quality in midfield.
