Solskjaer will move out of the hotel, unlike Mourinho who stayed for 2.5 years

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to move out of the Lowry Hotel a month after returning to Manchester United as he continues to settle in at the club.

Jose Mourinho stayed at the luxury hotel for the duration of his two-and-a-half-year reign, drawing criticism for not putting down roots in Manchester.

But Solskjaer, who lived in Cheshire with his family when he was a player at United, is already aiming to move out of his suite and set up home after just six games as caretaker boss – and despite the fact he is set to return to Molde in May.

The bill for his short stay will be around £18,000 — much less than the £537,000 tab racked up by Jose Mourinho during his time as United manager.

'I'm still in the hotel but I've found a place and it won't be too long,' he said.

'I've been driving around a bit and finding my bearings. I've got mates so it's not like I'm stuck in a hotel on my own.'

On settling back in at his old club, he added: 'I love it to be fair. I have to say I look forward to getting up in the morning to start work again.

'I always do in football. At Molde or Cardiff, I love working with people, trying to improve people and here you want to go to bed at night.'

Solskjaer was asked about Mourinho's first interview since leaving United in which he suggested that player power forced him out of Old Trafford, and insisted that he would return to work at a top club.

'I'm still in the hotel but I've found a place and won't be too long,' Solskjaer said on Friday

'I can't really comment on everything he says. I'm enjoying working with these boys, and that's all I can say.'

Mourinho lived in Manchester for 895 days after setting up base at the Lowry Hotel on July 6, 2016 but was dismissed by the club without setting up a permanent base.

His family base remained in London as his daughter — Matilde — graduated from London's University of Arts in the summer and his son — Jose Mourinho Jnr — played for Fulham until April 2017.

The former Manchester United boss lived in one of the hotel's luxury Riverside Suites.

A Riverside Suite is priced at £600 on their website which means Mourinho shelled out around £537,000 since moving to Manchester if he was paying the average online price.
