Luciano Spalletti believes Juventus are filling "gaps" made by "some bad signings in recent years" ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Juve were in pre-season action on Saturday, defeating Nice 2-0 in Turin to add to their previous win over Standard Liege and draw with Basel.
Douglas Luiz opened the scoring in the first half before 19-year-old Justin Oboavwoduo scored late on to secure victory for the Bianconeri.
While possession was split evenly between the two sides, Juve won the expected goals battle (xG) 0.68 to 0.18 after recording eight shots, three of which were big chances, to Nice's five attempts.
Juve have added Zeki Celik and Jeff Ekhator to their squad this season, while also signing Jeremie Boga from Nice on a permanent deal.
Spalletti, who was pleased with how his side have progressed from last season, believes Juve still need to make more signings this summer.
"I liked a lot, as last season the team would go on the attack even when it couldn’t feel the support of the defence and midfield, so they would press even when the rest of the team wasn’t ready," Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia.

"Instead, they did well, filling that gap, winning back the ball and creating some interesting developments, even if they still lost the ball a bit too easily at times.
"The transfer market is complicated for various reasons, we made some bad signings in recent years, so now we’ve got to fill those gaps.
"Unlike some other clubs, we also cannot just pay any sum, so we’ve got to make the most of things. I think the directors are perfect."
Juve are reportedly close to signing Randal Kolo Muani, who spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan with the Bianconeri, from Paris Saint-Germain.
Spalletti's side will face Chelsea, Inter and Palermo in pre-season before their Serie A campaign starts away to Frosinone on August 23.
