Sport: Vlahovic awaits Barcelona's response as Besiktas makes second offer

According to Sport, Vlahovic hopes to finalize his future in the first week of August. Besiktas has submitted an improved two-year contract offer, but he is still awaiting a response from Barcelona.

Vlahovic's contract with Juventus expired on June 30, and although both parties discussed an extension for several weeks, no agreement was reached. Juventus has since signed Paris Saint-Germain forward Kolo Muani, effectively closing that door. Vlahovic had clearly stated to those around him that he would only be willing to lower his demands if a top team like Barcelona or Juventus emerged, but even then, no deal could be made.

Barcelona began contacting Vlahovic through his entourage in early summer. The sports management noted the conditions but did not pursue them further, as they considered him not a priority target and his asking price too high. Vlahovic at the time sought a two-year contract with a net annual income of 8 million euros, plus a signing bonus and agent commissions. Barcelona was merely listening to offers.

Later, news reached Barcelona that Vlahovic was willing to accept lower terms to continue discussions. Barcelona never officially pushed forward but did tell him that as the transfer market progressed, his proposal might become viable. Therefore, as days passed and Barcelona's options for a forward dwindled, the Serbian striker began to harbor hope.

Vlahovic now faces two choices: either join Besiktas immediately or make a final effort and wait for Barcelona. Barcelona might withdraw its offer in the coming days if there is no significant progress with Julián Álvarez. Barcelona is still competing for the Argentine forward, while also awaiting Ferran Torres' decision on his future. If Ferran leaves, Barcelona might sign another forward.
