Work on the third ring road has continued to progress over the last few days.
Although Limak began construction of the third ring of the Camp Nou stadium about ten days ago, significant progress can already be seen in the side stand, the area where this phase of the work began. The foundations have been laid in the lower section, the base where the seats will eventually be located. In addition, some blocks have already been completed, reaching what will be the highest part of the stadium. Above, only the dome will remain.
The phase to complete the side stand will continue for a few more days and, if there are no changes in plans, will be followed by the construction of the third ring of the North Goal, followed by the South Goal and the grandstand area.
Barcelona is still waiting for the City Council to grant it license 1A, which would allow the stadium to open with a capacity of approximately 27,000 spectators. However, the club has already announced that it will wait for license 1B, which will directly increase the capacity to approximately 45,000 fans. The club is optimistic and believes that, once they have the first license, the second will be a matter of time.
What is now official is that Barça will play its next two home matches, against Girona and Olympiakos, at the Lluís Companys stadium. During the month of November, the Blaugrana will host Elche, Athletic Club, and Alavés. The match against Vitorians, which will be played on the last weekend of the month, could coincide with the club's 126th anniversary.
