Match Reports

Xabi Alonso's side came back to draw 2-2 with the Serie A giants, extending the club's unbeaten run to 49 games.

Leverkusen's last competitive defeat came on 27 May 2023 - 348 days ago.

The German giants have already clinched the Bundesliga title and are now aiming for a historic treble.

Bayer Leverkusen progressed to the Europa League final after winning 4-2 on aggregate.

Gianluca Mancini's own goal and Josip Stanisic's late strike sealed the club's fate in dramatic fashion.

Speaking after last week's first leg, Leverkusen midfielder Amine Adli admitted he and his team-mates would be happy as long as they reached the final.

He said: "If we have to lose some games, such as the second leg 1-0, we will not say no if it takes us to the final.

"Our mentality is to win every game and we will try to do this. Nothing is done and we've seen a lot of comebacks in football in the last year.

"You can never say the job is done."

Meanwhile, manager Alonso claimed: "We want to stay unbeaten and we know every week it gets tougher.

"Everyone wants to beat us."

Bayer Leverkusen can still go invincible in the Bundesliga with four games remaining.

The Black and Reds now have the longest unbeaten streak in European football history.
