Ronaldo was substituted around the 80th minute in the match against Croatia, after which a young fan wearing a Portugal national team jersey bearing Ronaldo's iconic number on the back suddenly rushed toward his bench. Two alert security guards quickly apprehended the young man, preventing him from approaching the oldest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history.
Portuguese substitute Samu Costa looked visibly concerned on the bench, seemingly worried that the two burly security guards might be too rough with the reckless fan.
