TA: Grealish and Maguire left out of England's final Euro 2024 squad

Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire have been left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championship in Germany.

The pair join James Maddison, Curtis Jones and James Trafford in missing out on a place in the final 26-player squad, having been included in Gareth Southgate’s initial 33-player provisional selection. Grealish struggled for form in 2023-24 at Manchester City, having scored just three goals across 36 appearances in all competitions. The 28-year-old has previously been a regular in Southgate’s side and was integral to England reaching the Euros final in 2021.

Manchester United centre-back Maguire, meanwhile, has been key for to Southgate over the last three major tournaments. He has, however, not played since April due to a calf injury.

England said in a statement on Thursday that Maguire was following an individual programme and did not participate in today’s (Thursday) training session.
