On 5 December, the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in Washington, D.C. According to a recent report by The Athletic, U.S. President Trump will accept the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize and deliver a speech at the ceremony.

According to multiple sources, based on the event plan finalized in recent weeks, Trump will have the opportunity to speak at the nearly two-hour ceremony held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Mexican President Claudia Sinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will also attend the draw ceremony. It is worth noting that FIFA is unlikely to impose strict restrictions on the content of Trump's speech.

White House Press Secretary Davis Ingle stated, "Never in American history has the United States earned such widespread respect and achieved such remarkable success as under President Trump's leadership. The United States is now the most influential country in the world, making us the best choice to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a top-tier global sporting event."

However, the White House has not commented on Trump's scheduled speech at the draw ceremony.

On November 5th, FIFA officially announced the establishment of a new award – the "FIFA Peace Prize."

FIFA's official website and FIFA President Gianni Infantino's social media accounts simultaneously released a statement in which Infantino stated: "In today's increasingly turbulent and divided world, recognizing the outstanding contributions of those who tirelessly strive to quell conflict and unite people in a spirit of peace is of paramount importance."

He further emphasized: "Football symbolizes peace and represents the shared belief of the global football community. The 'FIFA Peace Prize' will be awarded to individuals who dedicate themselves to uniting people and sowing hope for future generations."

FIFA indicated that the award will be an annual prize, and the inaugural award will be officially presented by Infantino at the World Cup draw ceremony in Washington this Saturday.
