Erik ten Hag has told error-prone Andre Onana to 'step up' and 'give better performances' after the £47million goalkeeper's tough start at Manchester United.
But the United boss has backed Onana to come good, pointing out that even legendary stoppers need time to settle and adjust.
United will be hoping to build on the momentum from Scott McTominay's two stoppage time goals against Brentford last time out as they head to Sheffield United on Saturday night.
Asked about Onana's jitters, Ten Hag said: 'He knows we know, he will do much better.
'Every player coming into the Premier League needs an integration, he has to step up.
'Big United keepers like [David] De Gea and [Peter] Schmeichel, they needed time.
'We live in the now and he has to live in the future by giving better performances. He's shown that many times. He was in the semi-finals of the Champions League and the final of the Champions League.'
