Ter Stegen: I hadn't really studied the penalties

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was on top form on Wednesday night as he kept the Catalan club alive during their Supercopa de Espana semi-final against Real Sociedad before becoming the hero in the penalty shootout.

Of the five penalties that the German faced, he was able to save three of them, which then allowed Riqui Puig to slot home to win the shootout 3-2.

"The truth is we hadn't studied them that much on penalties," Ter Stegen admitted to Movistar in his post-match interview.

"In the first 25 minutes they pressed us a lot. Then we found more space and, towards the end, they had trouble pressing.

"The victory is well deserved. They had a few more chances in extra time but we won, which is what we had to do."
