Thierry Henry could be set for a return to management on the international stage, according to reports.
The Arsenal legend has previously managed Monaco and Montreal Impact at club level before coaching France Under-21s and his country's Olympic team at last year's Games in Paris.
He left his role with the French national team after winning a silver medal at the Olympics and has since returned to punditry, but he is now in the running to take another top job on the touchline.
According to L'Equipe, Henry is one of two leading candidates to be the next Belgium manager, with the European nation expected to sack Domenico Tedesco imminently.
Henry, who previously had two separate spells as Belgium's assistant coach when he worked under Roberto Martinez, is expected to go head-to-head with Rudi Garcia to replace Tedesco.
Tedesco is set to be sacked after a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign that saw Belgium eliminated in the round of 16 by France.
After taking over from Martinez following the 2022 World Cup, Tedesco led Belgium on a 14-match unbeaten run heading into last summer's Euros.
However, the Red Devils won just one of their four matches in Germany before being knocked out.
Things went from bad to worse after the tournament as Belgium lost four of their six Nations League matches after being placed in a group with France, Italy and Israel.
The Belgian FA now want to have a new manager in place for the next international break in March.
They are aiming to decide on their preferred candidate by the end of this month and then finalise a deal in February, and it is understood that Henry and Garcia are the two favourites to take the position, as things stand.
Garcia has managed Lyon, Marseille and Lille in France, while he also coached Roma and Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.
His latest job saw him last just four months at Napoli before he was relieved of his duties in November 2023.
