Tottenham identify potential Fabio Paratici replacement who has links to Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham will be on the hunt for a new director of football after Fabio Paratici saw his 30-month football ban expanded worldwide by FIFA

Paratici was due to be a key figure in appointing Spurs' next head coach, but the club will now have to conduct this process in his absence, as they look to bring in someone else to take charge of footballing operations at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. One figure linked with the position has been Getafe general director Ramon Planes.

Should they wish to pursue that option, Tottenham have been handed a boost after Getafe president Angel Torres appeared to remove any obstacles of a move to north London. According to COPE, Torres "will not put any impediment" in place should Planes want a move.

Reports claim the Spanish director's days at current club Getafe are "numbered". He is set to depart at the end of this campaign, and will do so "without any closed offer" to move elsewhere, allowing Spurs to swoop in if they desire.

Real Betis have been linked with making the 55-year-old an offer, but there is currently nothing concrete in place. Paratici was one of a number of key officials to be given suspensions after Juventus were found guilty of false accounting.

The punishment also included a 15-point deduction for the Italian giants in January, after the Serie A side were accused of fixing their balance sheets by artificial gains from club transfers. Both Juventus and Paratici have denied the accusations and appealed the decision.
