Tottenham 'offered PSG's Julian Draxler as replacement for Christian Eriksen'

Tottenham have been offered Paris St-Germain’s £35m-rated schemer Julian Draxler as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen.

Spurs star Eriksen went public on his wish to leave the club this week, with Inter Milan weighing up whether to rival Real Madrid for his signature.

And PSG hope to take advantage of the situation, with Draxler surplus to requirements in Paris as the club looks to sell players to comply with Financial Fair Play.

Draxler, who has 49 caps for Germany, started 22 of their 32 league games last season, scoring three goals and managing eight assists.

He also occupies the same positions Eriksen has been used in by Spurs, playing primarily as an attacking midfielder or wider left.

But Draxler is not understood to currently be high on the club’s wish list as they look to spend money to convince manager Mauricio Pochettino to stay.

The 25-year-old’s wages could also be a problem for Spurs, who are pushing ahead with plans to sign Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

Tottenham have already had a £62m bid for the Argentina international rejected but he wants to join them and expects a deal to be done.

Denmark star Eriksen, who as one year left on his contract with the north London club, has confessed that the Bernabeu is his preferred destination but admitted that it is largely out of his hands.
