Tottenham wonderkid Lucas Bergvall has put pen to paper on a contract extension with the north London side.
Bergvall, 19, signed for Spurs in February last year - after refuting interest from Spanish giants Barcelona - and signed a deal that ran until 2029.
However, after his impressive displays in the first-team under Ange Postecoglou, the Sweden international has since signed a fresh contract extension with the club.
The new deal will see Bergvall's contract run until 2031 as the north London side look to tie down one of their prized assets for the future.
In a video posted onto Spurs' X account, Bergvall said: 'Last year, I chose to come here. This year, I chose to stay here. Come on you Spurs!'.
It's likely that Bergvall's new salary will reflect his status as a first-team player after quickly integrating himself into Postecoglou's side.
Since joining the club in a deal worth just £8.5million, the teenager has made 45 appearances in all competitions - scoring one and picking up four assists.
His only goal came in a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final clash, where he latched onto a Dominic Solanke pass and rifled an effort into the net.
However, in his most recent appearance against Liverpool, the midfielder was lambasted by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville for his role in one of the hosts' goals.
'Bergvall's header is appalling, it's pathetic,' Neville said on Sky Sports commentary. 'He half ducks his head.
'I have no idea what he's doing. It was a free header and he ended up glancing it into his own box'.
After rising through the ranks at Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna, he joined Djurgardens in December 2022.
He would go on to make his debut in the Swedish first division not long after his arrival, coming off the bench during a 3-1 win against his former side, Brommapojkarna.
Bergvall made his first start for the club later in May during a 1-0 win against Hacken, before scoring three goals across 28 appearances from midfield.
His performances in Sweden caught the eye of Spanish giants Barcelona however the teenager opted for a move to north London instead.
Though he signed with Spurs in February last year, he did not officially complete his move until the following summer.
He has since made four appearances for his national side and is yet to score.
