Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Hotspur will sign Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero on permanent transfers

According to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur will sign Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero on permanent transfers after this season. Both of them are currently on loan at the club, but it seems that they would stay with them moving forward as well.

Antonio Conte is delighted with Kulusevski and Romero for how they have fared at Tottenham so far. The duo are considered to be important cogs of their project right now and in the future as well. Hence, they will sign the two of them permanently, which would cost them around €80million in transfer fees.

This stance from Spurs is a great decision from their side, considering how Romero and Kulusevski have helped them to contend for the top four places in the Premier League table. Completing their permanent transfers would go a long way to strengthen their squad as they look to build towards a better future.

Tottenham Hotspur will complete the permanent signing of Cristian Romero in the summer.

There would undoubtedly have been a backlash from the supporters if the North London side decided against activating Romero and Kulusevski’s buy options. After all, the duo has been immense for us this season, and their contributions have helped us be in the driving seat to achieve qualification for the Champions League.

Hence, this decision from Conte’s side is a reasonable one indeed, as it would not have made sense to let the loan stars return at the end of this term. Kulusevski, in particular, has transformed our attack instantly, having formed great chemistry with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in a short time.

Kulusevski’s impact is noticeable when looking at his tally of three goals and eight assists from 17 appearances in the league. The Swede could greatly boost our right-wing for the long term as he still has not fully achieved his potential just yet. Conte could help the 22-year-old develop into a fully-fledged superstar if he does reach the heights he was touted to attain during his Parma days.

As for Romero, the Argentine had a mixed start at N17 as he was coming on the back of an injury that he picked up during the 2021 Copa America. The 24-year-old could not enjoy stability in the team as he was out with another major hamstring injury which kept him sidelined even after Conte had taken over the managerial role.
