Bale has long been on the Red Devils’ radar, and he faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu following the return of Zidane as manager

Kroos, meanwhile, would be a like-for-like replacement for Pogba, given he would likely lose his Real spot should the Frenchman arrive in Spain.

Herrera leaning towards leaving Man Utd for PSG on a free transfer (Record)

Ander Herrera is looking increasingly likely to leave Manchester United and join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Spaniard will be out of contract at Old Trafford in June and negotiations which started 18 months ago have reached deadlock.

United are still hopeful of persuading him to sign a new deal and it's believed the 29-year-old midfielder would prefer to stay.

According to reports from the Independent, Arsenal have received a boost in the pursuit of Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba, one of those who might be offloaded following the announcement of Lucas Hernandez's arrival for a club record fee of €80m.

The 26-year-old Austrian joined the Bavarians back in 2008 from Austria Wien and blossomed through their youth ranks before breaking into the senior side as a teenager.

He has made more than 300 appearances for the Bundesliga big boys securing a left-back role in spite of his ability to feature in multiple slots across the field.

Alaba is effective down the wings, as a central midfielder, deep-lying playmaker as well as a centre-half, but the signing of Hernandez would jeopardise his starting role in a star-studded Bayern squad.
