TAA unveils a new haircut as he returns to Liverpool for pre-season training

Trent Alexander-Arnold was spotted with a new hairstyle as he returned to pre-season training with Liverpool on Tuesday.

After what was seemingly a dismal and chaotic campaign last year, the Reds took some credit as they ended it with an 11-game unbeaten run which saw them secure fifth place and almost sneak into the Champions League.

Crucial to this turnaround was the form of Alexander-Arnold - who had previously been widely castigated for his performances - as Jurgen Klopp gave the right back a new hybrid role, tucking inside into midfield.

This was a tactical masterstroke as he added seven assists and one goal in 10 games to rediscover his swagger.

The England international will hope to build on that for the 2023-24 campaign where he will be sporting a new look.

He returned to the Reds' AXA Training Centre for pre-season on Tuesday as one of 13 players who were on international duty in June and subsequently given a later date to report back.

An earlier group had linked up on Saturday and would have seen that Alexander-Arnold has shaved the dreadlocks that became synonymous with his look last season.

Instead, the 24-year-old was showing off a relatively simple and smart haircut, with shaved sides as he underwent a series of fitness and medical tests.

In a video shared on Twitter by the club, Alexander-Arnold greeted Luis Diaz and new Reds signing Alexis Mac Allister in the corridors of the training ground after the Brighton man joined the club for £35m.

He was then quizzed on his new style to which he replied: 'The hair speaks for itself, fresh start, new season, new me, we're back and we're better.'

Klopp's outfit are set to head off to Germany next for a training camp where they will face friendlies against Bundesliga 2 sides Karlsruher SC and Greuther Furth.

They then jet off to Singapore and will come up against Leicester and Bayern Munich.

The Reds travel to Chelsea for their opening game of the 2023-24 Premier League season on August 13 in what is a tricky start to the campaign.
