Fresh off winning the Super Lig, a heavily rotated Galatasaray side sealed an away win at Goztepe, before lifting the trophy the day after following large-scale celebrations. Meanwhile, Besiktas' quest for Europa League football was complete despite another poor performance and result.
Heading into the weekend, both Samsunspor and Besiktas had the opportunity to book their spots in the qualifying round of the Europa League with wins.
In the end, both teams ended up achieving this goal, but not in the manner they would have expected.
Istanbul Basaksehir were their closest competitors for Europa League football, but somehow, with all three teams kicking off at the same time, they suffered an utterly shocking 3-2 home defeat to Adana Demirspor.
Prior to the weekend, Adana Demirspor were sitting slumped at the bottom of the table with -2 points due to horrific financial issues, had conceded 88 goals, had just two wins, and also played 45 minutes of the match with 10 men.
Yet humiliatingly, Basaksehir found a way to lose, meaning Besiktas and Samsunspor didn't even have to win - and neither team did.
Samsun managed to claim a really good 2-2 draw away at Trabzonspor, which is always a tough place to go.
Achieving Europa League football is a remarkable feat for the club, and German coach Thomas Reis has done an astonishing job. He has them set up extremely well and they are just so organised, which is showcased by the fact that goalkeeper Okan Kocuk is leading the clean sheet standings (14).
Meanwhile, Besiktas suffered a dreadful 2-1 loss at home to Rizespor, and despite scraping into the Europa League, they have just four wins in their last 12 games in all competitions.
Two of their wins came against relegated sides Adana Demirspor and Hatayspor, while the other two came against Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
Fans are growing really frustrated at the performances of Besiktas. While their form has ever so slightly improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, they are still a pretty poor side, and only really turn up when they play Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
Every time they come up against teams lower down the table, there is just a lack of application and quality, and they struggle to break down teams who sit back and are happy to absorb pressure.
They look set to finish fourth in the Super Lig this season, and they have plenty of work to do in the summer. Following a new manager bounce, there haven't been a lot of positive signs under Solskjaer, and the transfer window provides him the opportunity to shake things up.
In some other news, Bodrumspor were confirmed as the final team to be relegated after a 1-1 draw at Kayserispor, with rivals Alanyaspor winning 2-1 at Konyaspor. After their promotion last season, Bodrum became the first team from Mugla to ever play in the Super Lig.
Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce's season is also really fizzling out after they suffered a 4-2 loss at relegated Hatayspor. They are now 11 points behind champions Galatasaray.

Galatasaray lift Super Lig trophy
On Saturday, a weakened Galatasaray team clinched a 2-0 win at Goztepe, with several players missing out as eyes were firmly on what was set to be meteoric title celebrations the following day.
Reportedly, over a million people gathered in the streets of Istanbul on Sunday afternoon, as players took an open bus through the city, celebrating their 25th Super Lig title and their third in a row.
They then took a boat to Yenikapi, where hundreds of thousands of devoted fans were waiting for them to take to a massive stage.
There was a bit of frustration around the event, however, as there seemed to be more focus on the singers invited to perform beforehand instead of the actual title celebrations.
With the rain pouring down and seemingly no end to the musicians, fans began to get fed up as they awaited the players to appear from wherever they were.
Eventually, proceedings got underway, with players and their families being unveiled one by one to the delight of the fans. Some had been waiting for at least six hours, so they finally got the moment they were craving.
Rolland Sallai came out enthusiastically to the song Freed From Desire, Gabriel Sara did a belly slide, while the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Mario Lemina, Lucas Torreira, Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi got some of the loudest reactions. As you can imagine, the latter was in his element, hyping up the crowd and winding Fenerbahce up in the process with several different chants.
There were some truly emotional moments too. Dries Mertens walked out with his wife Katrin Kerkhofs, with the pair in tears as they bid farewell to the fans who had treated them like heroes during the three years Mertens spent at the club. Alongside their son Ciro, they had become a beloved family in Galatasaray.
Fernando Muslera also held back the tears as he waved goodbye. A true legend of the club, Muslera joined in 2011 and has been sensational in goal ever since. Captain of the team, he won eight Super Lig titles in his time, and will be sorely missed.
Eventually, after every player had their introductory moment, the real party began, and the Super Lig trophy was brought onto the stage. The evening may have been an inconsistent affair with the rain and the musicians, but it ended on a high note for everyone involved.
Highlight of the Week
Champions Galatasaray fielded a heavily-rotated team away at Goztepe, but still managed to come away with a solid win. And a key reason for their victory was this truly astonishing free-kick from Kaan Ayhan, whipping the ball into the top corner with expert precision and technique. Not a bad way to score your first goal of the season. Even Dries Mertens couldn't believe what he had just seen.
