UCL last-16 draw info as Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa learn opponents

Three Premier League teams remain in the hunt for European football's biggest prize after Manchester City crashed out of the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's side headed to the Spanish capital to face Real Madrid on Wednesday night, trailing 3-2 from a thrilling first leg at the Etihad. But the 2023 winners were blown away by last season's champions as a Kylian Mbappe hat-trick condemned them to a 3-1 defeat on the night, and a 6-3 loss on aggregate.

That means Real will be in the hat for Friday morning's draw along with a trio of clubs from the English top flight.

Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool all secured their spot thanks to top eight finishes in the new league phase - meaning they can watch this week’s play-offs to learn who they will take on over a two-legged tie next month.

Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Inter, and Lille also earned a bye to this stage, where they will be joined by the winners of the eight knockout play-off round ties, featuring the clubs who placed ninth to 24th.

Along with the next round, each remaining team will have their path to the final in Munich mapped out, with the bracket pre-defined by rankings earned from the group stage.

Here is all you need to know about how the draw will work and when it takes place.
