USA presents an experienced squad for the U20 World Cup

Tab Ramos, USMNT U20 strategist, presented the 21 players called for the U20 World Cup that is set to start at the end of May from Poland.

The U-20 United States men's national team is ready for the World Cup, as coach Tab Ramos announced the roster for the Poland tournament which will start on May 23, but the USMNT will debut a day later against Ukraine.

Timothy Weah, Alex Méndez, Sebastian Soto, Ulysses Llanez, Konrad de la Fuente, Chris Richards, among others, are just some of the names that will lead the Stars and Stripes squad for the most important event of the category.

Eleven of the 21 players called up currently play in Europe, while the other seven already made their MLS debut. Of those who play in the American league Paxton Pomykal and Edwin Cerrillo, are the only undisputed starters with FC Dallas.

Weah has already worn the USMNT jersey with the first team, but now he'll seek to be one of the leaders of the squad that looks to make history in Poland.

Surprises

The list shows some surprises too, as names like Tyler Adams, Josh Sargent, and George Bello were left out of the list that will represent the United States in the U-20 Poland World Cup.

Defenders: Sergino Dest (Ajax-Holanda), Chris Gloster, Aboubacar Keita, Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union), Matthew Real (Philadelphia Union) and Chris Richards (Bayern Münich-Alemania).

Midfielder: Edwin Cerrillo (FC Dallas), Chris Durkin (DC United), Richard Ledezma (PSV-Holanda), Alex Méndez (Freiburg-Alemania), Paxton Pomykal (FC Dallas) and Brandon Servania (FC Dallas).

Forwards: Ayo Akinola (Toronto FC), Konrad de la Fuente (FC Barcelona), Ulysses Llanez (Wolfsburg-Alemania), Justin Rennicks (New England Revolution), Sebastián Soto (Hannover 96-Alemania), Timothy Weah (Celtic-Escocia).
