Match Report
A lacklustre performance from Andrea Pirlo's men saw them almost squander the opportunity to leapfrog Napoli and AC Milan into third place in Serie A.
Udinese, who had lost three of their previous five league matches before this one, stunned last year's Serie A champions by going ahead in the 10th minute.
Winger Nahuel Molina's latched onto Rodrigo de Paul's cross into the box to strike into the top of the goal, leaving Juventus players aghast.
Despite enjoying almost two-thirds possession for most of the match, Juventus could not break down Udinese's resilient defence until a Ronaldo free-kick in the 82nd minute was adjudged to have struck de Paul's arm and a penalty was awarded.
The Portuguese duly stepped up and smashed the ball home to secure a crucial point for the Bianconeri.
Then in stoppage time, substitute Adrien Rabiot sent a cross into the box and Ronaldo crashed a header past Udinese goal-keeper Simone Scuffet to take all three points for Juventus.
