2024/2025 La Liga

Match Report
Atletico Madrid took provisional top spot in LaLiga with a comfortable 3-0 away win over toothless Valencia on Saturday.
Julian Alvarez netted a first-half double, before Angel Correa came off the bench to add further gloss to Atleti's win late on.
It means Diego Simeone's team took the advantage in LaLiga, albeit Barcelona will regain top spot should they claim a win over Las Palmas later on Saturday.
Former Manchester City forward Alvarez struck on the rebound in the 12th minute to open the scoring.
He then headed home an Antoine Griezmann cross in the 30th minute to extend Atleti's lead.
Simeone's side took their foot off the pedal after the break but managed to score their third through Correa at the end of a quick counter-attack in the 86th minute.
Substitute Conor Gallagher set up Correa's goal, and turned in an impressive performance overall from the bench, creating a team-high three chances while completing nine of his 10 attempted passes in the final third.

Data Debrief: Alvarez leads the way
Valencia, who are third from bottom in LaLiga, tallied up 18 shots to Atletico's 11, helped by Jose Gaya creating a game-high five chances.
But just two of those 18 Valencia attempts were on target, and the visitors' opportunities were of greater quality, highlighted by their expected goals (xG) tally being higher at 1.28 compared to the hosts' 0.91, despite having fewer efforts overall.
Alvarez, who also scored in the reverse fixture against Valencia, which was another 3-0 win in September, was the star of the show, though.
He has now netted in back-to-back away matches, having also struck against city rivals Real Madrid last time out on the road.
It is a tight title race in LaLiga, but Atleti ensured they did not offer their rivals an inch.
