Valencia hope that Barca will lower their asking price for Rafinha

Rafinha Alcántara's future appears to lie away from Barcelona. He's on the market and the most likely destination appears to be Valencia.

Negotiations between the two sides stopped a couple of weeks ago and Valencia used that break to secure Maxi Gomez's transfer to Mestalla. Now Rafinha is a priority again.

Barça are sticking to their €15m asking price for the 26-year-old midfielder. However Valencia think that's on the high side, especially for someone with less than a year to run on their existing contract, but believe a deal can be struck. This is according to 'Plaza Deportiva'.

Time isn't on Barça's side as they know Valverde wants everyone moved on as quickly as possible. For the club, they also need to generate funds if they are to afford a deal for Neymar.

For now, Rafinha has begun preseason training with Barça as he awaits further developments on his future.
