Anderlecht have made an enquiry for Brentford midfielder Sergi Canos.
Coach Vincent Kompany is keen to add some extra creativity to his side and his recruitment staff have pinpointed the 22-year-old Canos.
The Spaniard, who has had spells with Liverpool and Norwich City, showed his versatility by filling in at wing back for a spell last season, going on to make 50 appearances and score nine goals.
The first game of Kompany's post-Manchester City career ended with a 6-0 victory as his Anderlecht side kicked off pre-season last week.
Kompany quit City at the end of last season after winning his fourth Premier League title in 10 years, returning to home country Belgium and taking over as Anderlecht's player/manager.
He had a watching brief last Saturday as his new side won 6-0 at KSV Oudenaarde, with Isaac Kiese Thelin scoring the first goal of his reign.
