Chelsea transfer news

In this article we will bring you all of today’s Chelsea transfer news. Make sure to check back to the site for more daily transfer updates throughout the summer.

Kepa linked with Valencia

Kepa Arrizabalaga would join Chelsea back in 2018. The Spaniard signed for the Blues for £71m, which at the time was a world-record fee for a keeper and a club record fee for Chelsea.

However, it is fair to say that Kepa has not enjoyed the best of stints at Chelsea. His poor displays would see Edouard Mendy brought in last summer and Kepa dropped as Chelsea’s no.1

The Londoners now face an issue of having an incredibly expensive player sat on the bench most games whilst budget option Mendy is the clear no.1

Now, ahead of the new season, it appears that Chelsea would be open to parting with the Spaniard.

El Gol Digital report that Kepa now wants a ‘change of scenery’ and Chelsea would be open to him departing.

Valencia are named as an interested party in the report. But a permanent switch does not seem likely with a loan move instead touted.

Werner offered as part of Haaland deal

Next up comes an update concerning Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian is one of the hottest prospects in world football right now and Chelsea have been linked with a move for a while now.

But Borussia Dortmund’s price-tag does seem quite high, with some suggesting around 175 million euros would be the fee needed to land Haaland this summer:

Now though, it appears Chelsea have offered up one of their current attackers as part of a deal for Haaland.

According to Ian McGarry of The Transfer Window Podcast:

‘Elsewhere on Chelsea’s list of course, as we’ve consistently reported ahead of anyone else, is their interest in Erling Haaland.

‘The Borussia Dortmund striker has an outrageous record of goals per game in terms of ratio.

‘It’s our understanding that Timo Werner, who it’s safe to say did not enjoy a very good debut season at Stamford Bridge, was offered as part of a deal for Haaland.

‘Therefore, obviously, negating part of the fee in terms of the quite substantial amount Dortmund are quoting for Haaland in excess of 150 million euros at this point.

‘I’m told that Werner unlike [Kai] Havertz hasn’t adapted well to life in England. He has not assimilated himself necessarily very well. He’s an introverted character. Havertz is extroverted. Even though he has the safety net of having Havertz as an international team-mate and other players like Antonio Rudiger, it just hasn’t happened for him.

‘I’m told Dortmund want cash only.’

Gallagher joins Crystal Palace

Elsewhere, Chelsea have allowed Conor Gallagher to join Crystal Palace on loan for the season.

The midfielder had previously been honing his craft with West Brom before they were relegated, and some Chelsea fans may have been hoping to see Gallagher handed a chance in the first-team following his stint with the Baggies.

However, it is easy to see why Thomas Tuchel allowed the loan given the competition already there for just two spots in Chelsea’s midfield.
