Where's next station? Ramos confirms departure: This is my last game in Mexico

"Obviously yes, that was my last match in Mexico" was Sergio Ramos' reaction to the question of whether or not he would stay with Rayados de Monterrey.

He made the comment after being eliminated in the semifinals of the Mexican Apertura Tournament. Monterrey lost 3-2 in the second leg in Toluca, a team that had tied Rayados' 1-0 lead from the first leg. But Toluca, the current champion, advanced to the final (against Tigres) due to their higher finish in the regular season standings.

The Sevillian's contract expires at the end of this year, meaning he is now free to sign with any team: "We're sad, but with a clear conscience knowing we gave it our all on the pitch. It's time to learn, get back up, and know that this is also part of football. The biggest regret is not having given the fans another final, as they deserve it the most. Thank you always for your support. Up with Monterrey!" Ramos said on social media.

In Saturday's match, Sergio Ramos scored a penalty to make it 3-1, giving Monterrey hope after an initial 3-0 deficit that made a comeback seem impossible. The final score was 3-2... and Ramos bids farewell to Mexico. Where will he be in 2026?
