Zirkzee: Mainoo is the epitome of calm, external pressure doesn't affect him at all

England is set to face Panama in their final group stage match, and Mainoo is expected to make his FIFA World Cup debut in this game. Manchester United teammate Zirkzee stated in an interview that Mainoo is someone who "doesn't feel pressure."

Zirkzee shared relaxation techniques he learned from Lisandro Martínez and joked about Mainoo's calm and composed nature—the 21-year-old remains unruffled no matter the situation.

Speaking about his pre-match routine, Zirkzee said: "I do a few sets of breathing exercises to calm my mind, then listen to music and complete all pre-match preparations.

While listening to music, I visualize various scenarios that might unfold in the game. Mainoo always brings a positive atmosphere to the locker room, whether he's playing or not. That's my whole preparation process. I also pray before matches; it's become a routine for me, not something special, but part of my daily life.

This breathing and relaxation method was actually taught to me by Licha (Martínez), and it worked really well after I tried it, so I decided to stick with it before every game. It's always beneficial to have a fixed pre-match routine, and I've been doing it ever since I incorporated it into my process."

When asked by a reporter to rate his calmness on a scale where 1 was calm and 10 was extremely nervous, Zirkzee smiled and replied: "1, right? Isn't it? Mainoo is synonymous with calm; external pressure simply doesn't affect him."

Mainoo actually rated himself a 3. The Manchester United official website noted that if he gets a chance to play at MetLife Stadium, his actual performance on the field will undoubtedly be much higher than that score.
