Zoff confident Agnelli won't sell Juventus: They're more than a football club

Minority shareholders Tether have announced they've made an offer to buyout the Agnelli's majority ownership.

But Exor, Juve's holding company, stated within hours of Tether's annoucement that the club was not for sale.

Zoff told Libero: "I never believed the deal could materialize. I hesitated for a while, then I thought it would be impossible. And then, right on cue, Exor said 'no thanks'.

"Juventus, which I've supported since I was a child, isn't just a football club; it's something more in Turin. To understand that, you have to have played there and coached it as I did. I think it has remained the same even under John Elkann's management, given that when faced with an offer that seemed serious, a no was said and given the reasons."

Zoff also said: "I've never believed the rumors about the club's sale, neither in the past nor now. The reason is very simple: when I played with the number 1 shirt for that team, it seemed to me to be worth almost more than Fiat for the Avvocato and the whole family. Is that also true for John Elkann? I can only say that the bond with the dynasty has been strong since 1923, so for 102 years.

"And history speaks for  itself. I don't think it will ever be broken, despite certain rumors and certain offers."
