Experts of last DAILY TOPIC: Which player do you have sympathy for most and why?
First Name I would like to mention is Arsenal Midfielder Santi Cazorla!!
Santi Cazorla has gone under the knife 10 times since an injury in 2016 and plans on returning to the top level in 2019 provided all goes to plan. Cazorla, who is 33, has not pulled on the Arsenal jersey since October 2016 when he suffered an injury in a Champions League game against Ludogrets.
Since that injury, Cazorla has gone under the knife TEN times and in a recent interview revealed that an infection had resulted in the surgeons taking EIGHT centimetres of tendon from his ankle.
Second would be Daniel Sturridge!!
A world class and very smart striker in front of the goal.Everyone who witnessed his goalscoring capacity two seasons back for Liverpool would know that.Such a good striker but injury prone!! He would have been at another level by now if he could have continued without any injuries!!
Third would be Hull City Midfielder Ryan Mason!
Mason sustained a fractured skull after competing with Cahill during a corner in a Premier League match last January. He required emergency surgery on 'life-threatening injuries' and was released eight days later.
Mason had originally announced his plans to return to football in early 2018 and said in October that he was waiting for his skull to further recover before taking to the field again. The midfielder was initially expected to return to football, but recent scans showed the injury to be even more significant than originally feared.
As a result, Mason announced his retirement at the age of 26 to an outpouring of tributes and well wishes from across English football.
I think that the most unlucky would be Asamoah Gyan.
For those who don't know him. He is known for missing crucial penalties in important matches. Remember the world cup quarter-final between Ghana and Uruguay, it was an intense match Ghana pressing Uruguay and were on the verge to become the first African country to reach the semi-finals but the unforgettable happened, Luis Suarez ( how I hate him). Right before the end of extra time, he kept the ball out of the net using his hand. Ghana received a penalty and if they scored history would be made. Of course, all Africans were supporting Ghana and were celebrating already the victory. So Gyan stepped in and shoot "bam, he missed". They went in the penalty shoot-out and of course lost.
This is not the end he also missed a crucial penalty in the African cup of nations semifinals that would have sent Ghana to the finals. People say that they burnt his house in Ghana.
