10-man Sevilla rescue a late point against Eibar

Sevilla fought back from two goals down to rescue a point against Eibar in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday night.

The Andalusian club pulled off what seemed an impossible task, as they were 2-0 down and playing with ten men with only four minutes to go.

Eibar took the lead through Fabian Orellana much to the annoyance of the home crowd who began to vent their frustrations at Pablo Machin and his players.

Those frustrations multiplied as Charles was able to nod home unopposed to make it 2-0 with half an hour left.

Any hope of a comeback looked to have been dashed as Ever Banega was sent off on 85 minutes.

Suddenly, however, it all became possible when Wissam Ben Yedder finished off a smart ball from Pablo Sarabia.

Then, in the dying moments, Sarabia himself threw himself at a cross from Quincy Promes to convert and complete an unthinkable comeback.

It was a draw which felt like a victory at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, though fourth-placed Sevilla will now be feeling Getafe breathing down their necks, as the Madrid-based club sit just two points behind them.
