Aguero set for his first Barcelona start vs Rayo Vallecano

Ronald Koeman could give Sergio Aguero his first start as a Barcelona player when the Blaugrana visit Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.

Aguero has already scored his first Barcelona goal, netting a consolation in El Clasico on Sunday after coming on as a substitute. So far, he has made three substitute appearances for a total of 34 minutes after recovering from his injury, coming on against Real Madrid, Dynamo Kiev and Valencia.

Now, the Argentine might start against Rayo Vallecano as Ansu Fati may be given a rest, following his own long-term injury.

"Aguero is ready to have more time on the pitch, even if he isn't yet ready to play 90 minutes," Koeman has said of the summer signing.

"He is ready, though, to start a match or to play the entire second half."

We'll see if Aguero does start on Wednesday, then, when the Catalan club visit Vallecas to take on Rayo Vallecano.
