Alaves maintain sublime start against Huesca

The fighting spirit and quality of Alaves was on show on Sunday afternoon as they battled back from behind to beat Huesca 2-1.

Moi Gomez had put the away side in front as they looked for three crucial points in their bid to get off the bottom, although it was thanks to a poor goalkeeping error from Antonio Sivera.

Alaves pressed forward and just six minutes later they drew level through Jony when he turned in a cross from Ibai. Both goals were reviewed by VAR but on each occasion, the initial decision was upheld.

Ibai missed a chance to put Alaves ahead before the break in a game low on quality and the winning goal did eventually come on 69 minutes, when a Ruben Semedo error saw the ball fall kindly in the area for Ruben Sobrino and he made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
