After being left without Arda Güler at the last minute due to the arrival of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona could once again lose at the last minute a young talent they had practically tied down. According to Fabrizio Romano, Anderlecht are very interested in Tudor Mendel-Idowu, an 18-year-old English forward with whom the Catalan club's management reached an agreement in principle a few days ago.
When everything seemed to indicate that nothing and nobody would prevent Tudor Mendel-Idowu, a free agent after finishing his contract with Chelsea, from committing himself to Barça until 30 June 2026 and reinforcing Barça's Juvenil A (U19) and reserve team, Anderlecht have entered the scene with a higher economic proposal and the promise of forming part of the first team dynamic, per to Romano.
Mendel-Idowu has developed in Chelsea's youth ranks. He joined the London club at the age of nine and, although he has not made his first-team debut, he has played for the English club's Under-21, Under-19 and Under-18 teams. The winger now faces a decisive few hours to make a final decision on his future.
