Arsenal given Saka to Liverpool transfer prediction as Salah replacement eyed

Arsenal transfer news: Bukayo Saka has been linked with a shock move to Liverpool in the future, but a new long-term deal at Arsenal may scupper any plans to replace Mohamed Salah.

It comes as the 21-year-old continues his monumental rise to the top of world football, pushing into the Gunners first-team from the academy at Hale End in his formative years. He went on to become a guaranteed starter on the right-wing and has grown alongside the rest of the team.

Last season, both he and the squad announced themselves properly as a club that can challenge at the very top of the division once again. The north London outfit led the Premier League for the majority of the campaign, but narrowly missed out to a rampant Manchester City side when it counted.

That's not to downplay the impact Saka had on the team though, scoring 15 goals and assisting 11 in 48 appearances across all competitions. With his constant improvement, the England international could look to take that up another level this year, which includes a debut in the Champions League.

Arsenal, as a result, have been handed a boost by the new contract signed by Saka earlier this summer that will keep him at the club for longer. It's a four-year extension that will help strengthen the core of the squad, while also fending off any potential interest from other clubs.

Manchester City have been linked with a transfer in the past, while Liverpool have also been touted with landing Saka as a replacement for Salah. While that was something being mentioned again, former player Didi Hamann believes it's a deal that won't happen.

He told LordPing: "Mohamed Salah is 31-years-old and still never gets injured. He has another three or four years at the top level, I can't see why he won't keep scoring loads of goals until he's 34 or 35. I don't see any reason for Liverpool to be searching for a new right winger any time soon.

"Bukayo Saka has just signed a long-term contract at Arsenal and he's a part of a young team, so I can't see Liverpool being able to persuade him to join anytime soon. But look at Salah's stats, he gets compared to strikers like Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Ian Rush when he's a winger. I think Salah has at least three more good years in him, Liverpool is his home now so I don't see him leaving next year."

It remains to be seen exactly what awaits Saka for the rest of his career, but for the mean time, that is going to be with Arsenal and with the intent of landing some trophies.
