Arsenal player wages after William Saliba signs five year contract

WILLIAM SALIBA is one of the highest paid players at Arsenal after signing a huge five-year contract.

The Gunners have fought off transfer interest in the defender to secure his long-term future at the club.

Saliba has been a key player for Arsenal since breaking into the team in 2022.

And he has been rewarded for his fine form with a deal understood to be worth £250,000-a-week.

That makes him the third highest paid player at the Emirates, behind Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.

Saliba is the latest Arsenal star to put pen to paper following the renewals of Gabriel, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.

Arsenal will reportedly now prioritise tying down Bukayo Saka to a new deal.

But with Saliba wrapped up it should deter bids from interested parties, such as Real Madrid.

His previous contract was set to expire in 2027, the same date as Gabriel Martinelli's and Leandro Trossard's deals.

Arsenal have a policy of avoiding players entering the last year of their contracts as it weakens the club's negotiating position when it comes to selling.

They now have seven players earning £200,000 or more a week, including summer arrival Viktor Gyokeres.

Saliba's previous deal is believed to be worth around £175,000-a-week, with Arsenal's wage bill rising once again from the £328million a year that was shown in their accounts until May 2024.
