Arsenal transfer news: Eberechi Eze saga takes fresh twist as Gunners agree deal

  /  autty

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Eberechi Eze throughout the summer transfer window but it's Tottenham who are the favourites for his signature, while Oleksandr Zincheko could be on his way out

It all starts here. Arsenal will kick off their 2025-26 Premier League campaign on Sunday, travelling to face Manchester United at Old Trafford.

But the start of the new season doesn't mean the end of the Gunners' transfer business. In fact, things are set to get much busier after a relatively quiet few weeks after the signing of Viktor Gyokeres.

The Swedish striker's arrival took Arsenal's summer spending to £195million, as Mikel Arteta bids to build a squad capable of finally winning the Premier League title.

It's not all about incomings, though. Sales will be needed to offset the Gunners' spending, with a number of exits are in the pipeline.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from the Emirates.

Eze to miss Crystal Palace opener

Eberechi Eze is expected to be left out of Crystal Palace's opening game of the season as he edges closer to a move to north London - but not with Arsenal. Tottenham have been installed as the favourites to sign the England international after Spurs star James Maddison suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season.

Eze, 27, is open to joining Tottenham as he wants to play Champions League football, according to the Sun. Sources add that the Palace midfielder is unlikely to face Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

Fenerbahce agree deal for Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko reportedly has the chance to sign for Fenerbahce after Arsenal agreed a deal for his departure. Zinchenko, 28, is open to leaving Arsenal after entering the final year of his contract.

Turkish outlet Sporx claim that Fenerbahce have been in talks with the Gunners for a week, adding that their sporting director, Devin Ozek, has met with Arsenal's Andrea Berta to discuss the Ukrainian defender. The two clubs are said to have agreed a €3m (£2.6m) loan fee with a €10m (£8.6m) option to buy at the end of the season, with all eyes now on Zinchenko's decision.

De Jong plan drawn up

Arsenal are planning to sign Frenkie de Jong as a free agent next summer, it's claimed. De Jong's current terms with Barcelona expire in June 2026 and despite indicating that he wants to stay, the 28-year-old midfielder is yet to sign a new contract amid their well-documented financial woes.

Fichajes report that Barca need to beware, as Arsenal are plotting a move. Arteta sees De Jong as the perfect man to compliment his current midfield options and believes that his experience would be greatly beneficial.
