Atlético Madrid bid €25m for Lee Kang-in as PSG demand €35m

According to Mundo Deportivo, Lee Kang-in has decided to leave PSG. However, Atlético Madrid's current offer falls short of PSG's demands.

Atlético Madrid has identified 23-year-old PSG winger Lee Kang-in as a key transfer target for next season. However, PSG rarely allows players to leave easily, particularly when the club has not decided to sell.

Reports from South Korea and France indicate that the international player, who previously played for Valencia and Mallorca, has decided to leave PSG. Under Enrique's system, Lee Kang-in has been relegated to a backup role and is no longer satisfied with his situation.

Atlético Madrid attempted to sign Lee Kang-in last winter, but PSG blocked any departures at the time.

PSG are also looking to offload several players. For instance, Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos appears frustrated at being Dembélé's backup, which is why his name regularly surfaces in transfer rumors. Lee Kang-in's situation is similar. In the Champions League this season, for example, the South Korean international did not start a single match and did not feature in the final.

Atlético Madrid are focused on first agreeing personal terms with Lee Kang-in before tackling difficult negotiations with PSG. Atlético hope to complete the deal for €25 million, while PSG are demanding at least €35 million.

The gap between the two clubs' valuations is significant, but not unbridgeable. After all, the transfer window does not open until July 1st. Atlético's advantage is that Lee Kang-in is convinced he will not remain at PSG next season.

Negotiations are complicated by Lee Kang-in's strong performances for South Korea at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which could increase his market value and strengthen PSG's stance. However, the good relationship between the clubs and the player's desire to leave could still help facilitate a deal.
