After two months of long negotiations, Filipe Luis has finally reached an agreement to join Flamengo this summer.
The left-back, who was a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of last season, will sign a two-year deal with the Brazilian side.
Filipe Luis has spent the past month with the Brazilian national team as they won the Copa America on home soil.
"I've been a Flamenguista since I was young," Filipe Luis said.
"It's the most complicated decision of my life," he said about his next steps after leaving Los Rojiblancos.
The 33-year-old had intended to stay at Atletico, but the club didn't offer him a new contract.
He will say goodbye to his teammates on Sunday before holding a press conference to announce his departure.
The veteran is expected in Rio de Janeiro on Monday to complete his move to his boyhood club.
