Ernesto Valverde finally got the left-back he has been asking for since last summer, as Barcelona signed Junior Firpo from Real Betis to cover Jordi Alba.

The Blaugrana signed the 22-year-old in exchange for 18 million euros plus another 12 in variables.

The Andalusian side signed Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza to replace Junior before the latter's departure.

The Catalan side replaced Mario Hermoso, who departed to Atletico, with Bernando Espinosa, who arrived on a free transfer as he was released this summer from Girona.

Allan Nyom arrived from West Bromwich Albion to play at right-back, Raul Garcia from Alaves to cover the left hand side and Marc Cucurella who can play both as a left-back and a wing-back.

The newly-promoted club secured the signings of Elche's Neyder Lozano, as well as Domingos Duarte, who played at Deportivo la Coruna last season, on loan from Sporting CP.

Granada also push for the signing of Jose Antonio Martinez, who played at the Andalusian side last season on loan from Eibar.

Following the departures of Juanfran, Nyom, Diego Reyes and Ezequiel Munos, Leganes opted for some renovations to their backline.

Osasuna were dealt a blow in their transfer dealings when Carlos Clerc did not renew his contract and instead left for Levante on a free transfer.

Real Madrid had been working on defensive reinforcements since last season, as the club wrapped up the signing of Eder Militao from Porto in March earlier this year.

Los Blancos met the Brazilian's 50-million-euro release clause after his dazzling displays in the Portuguese Primeira Liga as well as the Champions League and Zinedine Zidane will be keen to integrate him into the side as the new season progresses.
